The public and private sector must look beyond investing in R&D in their quest to make their economies digitally competitive.
Findings from the 2022 IMD World Digital Competitiveness Ranking, generated by the World Competitiveness Center, indicate that tangible measures including building regulatory frameworks conducive to business creation and pushing for transparent legal frameworks that protect users’ privacy are also key. Only this way will a widespread use of online services become likely.
